CONNOISSEUR ROUTE 1: Western Zambezi Valley, Harare to Lake Kariba (Sijarira Forest Area, east of Binga)
Harare to an exclusive camp on the western Kariba lakeshore. This route takes us through the remote country of the Sebungwe region, Chirisa Safari Area and the Chizarira National Park, with spectacular rivers and gorges, cliffs and plains, and wildlife as well. We finally arrive at a beautiful and secluded camp on the Kariba lake shore in the Sijarira Forest.
PRICE: On request.
EXCLUSIVE 'CONNOISSEUR' ROUTES FROM HARARE INTO THE ZAMBEZI VALLEY & LAKE KARIBA REGIONS.
These routes are largely designed for those who are already planning to visit the Kariba and Zambezi Valley areas, but who'd like to 'do something different' on the way there (or, indeed, back again!). Mostly, we recommend travelling these routes in the dry season. For those with a sense of adventure, though, we have a choice of alternative tracks and accommodation that enables us to cope with flooding rivers, broken bridges and other rainy-season challenges.

CONNOISSEUR ROUTE 2: Eastern Zambezi Valley, Harare to the Zambezi River (Chewore Safari Area, east of Mana Pools)
Harare to an exclusive camp on the Zambezi River, via the wild and remote Eastern Zambezi Valley Escarpment. We'll have beautiful mountain views, forests as far as the eye can see, and dinosaur trackways; mopanes and baobabs; and take our chances with the river crossings as we travel on to a secluded campsite in the Chewore Safari Area on the Zambezi River.
PRICE: On request.
These seldom-travelled routes are for those who like do do things a little differently. We've negotiated with landholders and concessionnaires to use routes and camps closed to casual visitors, in spectacular and remote scenery and wilderness. Don't go where the herds go - go with ZIM4x4!

The duration of these tours is flexible, depending on your preferences. Usually, too, we can decide 'on the spot' whether you'd like to spend another night in a particular place, or move on. We can also factor these routes into longer accompanied tours encompassing several National Parks, and will be very pleased to structure such a tour that takes into account your preference and the time you want to spend in northern Zimbabwe. The costs will depend on the kind of accommodation you'd prefer. We'll discuss the options with you, and quote you accordingly.
You'll need a standard 4x4 with low range, camping equipment, and provisions. We recommend you carry two spare wheels if possible, plus the usual basic spares such as fanbelts and spark plugs. We'll equip you with a two-way radio handset programmed to ZIM4x4's own frequency. In the unlikely event of serious vehicle problems, we have arrangements with handpicked specialist repair services.
