We can provide up-to-date information and advice on local conditions, routes, fuel availability and camping and other accommodation in the Zambezi Valley and Lake Kariba regions. This advice is usually provided free of charge, but you may wish to make a donation to our favourite conservation agency, the Zambezi Society, which supports anti-poaching and other work in the Parks we visit.
Please note that although we try to provide as up-to-date information as possible, we cannot guarantee total accuracy as conditions may change swiftly; nor can we accept any liability for inconvenience, costs or damage incurred by users of this free service.
Detailed route briefings
We can also create detailed route briefings within our area of operations,
but will usually charge this service to clients because of the time involved
in preparation. These briefings can be provided in either electronic or hard-copy
formats and include important waypoints, distances, campsites and other accommodation,
best available information on road conditions, and route overview maps at
a cost of US$30 for hard copy or US$25 for electronic versions.
Where to go & what to do
ZIM4x4 has links with many facilities offering accommodation, including basic
campsites, self-catering facilities, and fully serviced accommodation in hotels
and safari camps. We can arrange specialized
activities such as wildlife photography, canoeing, sailing and fishing,
and can assist you with selection and advance bookings. We can also put you
in touch with special interest groups ranging from archaeology to zoology.
